Janez Starman
Janez Starman began his professional career after graduation in 1996 as a Junior Associate for mag. Gregor Velkaverh. In 1998 he passed the National legal exam. In the period between 1997 and 1998 he worked as a Judge trainee at the Koper Higher Court.
He has been a partner in the Law Firm Starman/Velkaveh since 2000.
In 2005 he successfully completed training in the program: »International Criminal Court (ICC) from the perspective of defence lawyers« acquiring the skills necessary to act as counsellor before the International Criminal Tribunal in the Hague.
In the year 2009 he received the title of a mediator trainer form the Association of Mediators of Slovenia in passes on his knowledge to new generations of mediators in various courses at the Mediation centre at the Academy of the Slovenian Bar Association. As a mediator he works with the District court in Ljubljana and Koper, High courts in Ljubljana and in Koper, the Mediation centre at the Academy of the Slovenian Bar Association and Centre for alternative settlement of disputes at the Municipial community of Novo mesto.
Since 2012 he is active in several bodies of the Slovenian Bar Association.
